Richard Dreyfuss to Host 2009 Voice Awards Event

On October 14, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will honor writers and producers who have given a voice to people with mental health problems by incorporating dignified, respectful, and accurate portrayals of these individuals into film and television productions. Hosted by Oscar® award-winner Richard Dreyfuss, this year’s Voice Awards event will celebrate nominated and award-winning productions that include The Soloist, Michael Clayton, Lars and the Real Girl, "90210," "Grey’s Anatomy," Law & Order: SVU,” and "United States of Tara."

The Voice Awards will also recognize the accomplishments of consumer leaders who are working to promote the social inclusion of people with mental health problems and the real possibility of recovery.
