Subject: RE: L&C Non-responsive
- Please read
Hi Jean,
I was contacted by Carolyn McHugh today because Bonnie Hollie asked her
to call me. I am not happy how she
is handling my compliant. It took a
lot of effort and time on my part to ask the State to inspect and handle my
compliant about the 24 hour rule. I
was just informed that my compliant is being blown off and the Grand Jury's
compliant is being handled instead.
Even though my compliant was filed over 5 months ago ahead the of the Grand
Jury. I am requesting the State
respond to my compliant as a
separate compliant, and handled
through the State protocol as it was the last time I filed it.
It's been 5 months now, and the State has not given me a written response
concerning my out of compliance compliant against ETS.
Please respond. Today's note
below. Thank you,
Kathi

Carolyn McHugh, HFEN
909-383-6705 called. She indicated
that her boss,
Bonnie Hollie asked her to roll
my compliant in with the Grand Jury compliant and handle it under the Joint
Commission with the State audit/inspection.
I indicated that my compliant was separate from the CMS request for
inspection; in other words, my request was under a State law, not as a result of
a Grand Jury inquest with CMS.
Carolyn indicated she found a deficiency under the 23 hour and 59 minute rule.
This was the only
compliant of the Grand Jury's
assertions that was substantiated.
Carolyn indicated that because my compliant was rolled into the Grand
Jury's complaints, that the results are sent the Feds and not handled by the
State. If the Feds agree with her findings, they will send a form to the
hospital for a corrective action response.
I indicted that I was not at all happy how this was being handled.
My compliant was filed with L&C BEFORE the
Grand Jury's and now my complete
is being blown off and trumped by the Grand Jury's compliant.
I indicated I wanted my compliant handled by the State exactly like it
was handled the previous time. It
has been 5 months sent my compliant was sent to L&C and the State has not sent a
deficiency to the hospital as of yet, rather they are using a different protocol
this time per Bonnie Holly.
