I'm wondering if CMS (Centers for
Medicaid & Medicare Services) (the feds) would have an interest.
They could push DHS to act more swiftly.
The only corrective action CMS has is the deny funding to the facility,
something they are loath to do b/c it essentially closes an entire facility
(theoretically the whole medical center), thus denying the community of health
care services. But, again, they may
be able to push DHS to act sooner.
I have the name of the CMS contact to
call but am not back in the office 'til Thursday.
