The regional meetings are held in the following regions:

1. Far South Region
2. Far North Region
3. Bay Area Region
4. Central Valley Region
5. Southern Region

Far South Region encompasses the largest landmass in the state and is populated with the following counties: Imperial,

The regional meetings travel to each of the counties so that no county has to travel too far and there is equal representation. The State Conference also travels up and down the State for the same reasons. New Directors are elected yearly when their terms expire. There are two elected positions and one appointed position to assure diversity represents the State’s need for Cultural Competency issues. As well, two alternates are appointed as a backup incase one or more board members can’t fulfill their term.

Additionally, clients are involved in choosing and developing a regional project at the meetings. This assures there is input, involvement and development by all the clients that want to participate. All counties in the Far South Region attended the meeting.

We are looking for individuals that want to get involved and meet 1 to 2 times a month to advance performance improvement (PI) in all areas of mental health systems.
